Admins or Sysops are users with extended rights in the Drifting Souls Wiki. They maintain the article inventory and try to introduce a uniform structure and a certain continuity into the database.
In addition, they primarily monitor the activities of other authors with regard to compliance with the Wiki rules. In the event of violations of the rules, administrators may impose sanctions, such as issuing warnings, suspending or banning users. In case of violations of the wiki rules or other problems or open questions, any author can contact the administrators to give hints, report violations and request answers.

Schnelles Revertieren[]
Administrators have an additional button in a version comparison with the current version to quickly revert (= undo) all changes made by the last editing user (also known as rollback or reset).
Delete[]
Admins can delete any pages.
View deleted pages & restore[]
Deleted pages are not really deleted. They are only inaccessible to the general public. They can be viewed and restored by administrators via a special page.
Block users[]
Registered and anonymous users who willfully damage the wiki can have their writing privileges to the wiki revoked by means of blocking by an admin. The rules on the wiki are fixed here.
Unblock users[]
Blocks issued this way generally expire (unless indefinitely is selected as the duration) after a certain period of time. They can be lifted again ahead of time.
Protect pages[]
Just as writing privileges can be revoked from individual users, an individual article can be protected against editing. This prevents all users with normal rights from editing a particular article.
Edit protected pages[]
Restricting write permission on protected articles does not apply to administrators. They can edit all articles at any time.
Release pages[]
Pages protected against editing can be released by an admin at any time.
Configure MediaWiki[]
The various components and labels of the wiki software can be customized by admins.
Execute version deletions[]
The individual revisions of a deleted article can be restored separately. Thus, by deleting an article and selecting restore, individual revisions can be deleted, for example, because of legally questionable, offensive or youth-endangering content.
Version merges[]
Admins can merge the version histories of two articles into one by selectively deleting and moving them, for example if separate articles have been created about the same topic under two different lemmas (article names) that should be merged into one. To do this, the following steps are necessary:
- Move article A to (if not already there) common target lemma.
- Delete article A (with a note that it is only a temporary deletion)
- move article B to the common target lemma
- restore deleted versions of article A
- select the most recent/desired version in the version history and save it by editing it again with a note about version merging in the edit comment, ensuring that no outdated version is considered the newest by moving it.
