Drifting Souls 2 (DS2) ist ein originär deutschsprachiges Browserspiel. Das Spiel selbst bietet derzeit keinerlei andere Sprachversionen bzw. -ausgaben.
Dennoch ist es möglich, das Spiel auf andere Sprachen übersetzen zu lassen, sodass es auch Spieler, die die deutsche Sprache nicht beherrschen, spielen zu können. Hierzu benötigt man ein Übersetzungs-Tool für den Browser.
Zum Beispiel gibt es für den Mozilla-Browser eine Hilfe-Seite für Übersetzungs-Tools, siehe hier. Als mögliches Add-On für die Übersetzung bietet sich beispielsweise das Add-On „To Google Translate“ an.
Mithilfe solcher Tools lässt sich das Spiel grundlegen auch fremdsprachig spielen. Eine Ausnahme hierbei bildet jedoch das im Spiel integrierte Schreibrollenspiel (Com-Net). Im Com-Net oder über private Nachrichten können Kolonisten und NPCs rollenspielerisch / schriftlich miteinander in Kontakt treten. So können dort zum Beispiel Funksprüche, Kriegserklärungen, RPG-Geschichten oder andere rollenspielerische Erzählungen versendet werden. Das Rollenspiel in Drifting Souls 2 findet ausschließlich auf deutscher Sprache statt. Fremdsprachige Com-Net-Einträge sind verboten. Als Fremdsprachler muss man daher die Com-Nets vor dem Absenden auf Deutsch übersetzen lassen. Hierfür bieten sich wiederum Online-Übersetzer wie der Google Übersetzer oder DeepL (empfohlen) an. Sicherlich kann es auch hilfreich sein, deutschsprachige Spieler um Unterstützung beim Übersetzen zu bitten, beispielsweise über den DS2-Discord.
